To buy new MCV or used car instead?

I have bought my second Dacia last week. At first i had a Dacia Sandero 1,6 MPI i drove it 5 years. Last week I became a Logan MCV II. I think i drive it 5 years again an than I bye a new Dacia. Or maybe in 3 years.

Aber unser "Geplänkel" hilft ja Peja auch nix, wenns noch so lustig ist!
Kurz übersetzt: in Schnellform, fragt Peja obs besser wäre einen 3 Jahre alten Astra/Focus/Octavia zu nehmen, oder einen neuen MCV.
Wir sind uns einig, Peja zum neuen MCV zu raten, bei Wegstrecken einfach 1400Km, die beste Wahl.

Yes, that's what I said. You have to go to Renault (expensive!) instead of repairing/changing parts yourself or go to a independent mechanic.
This is the "price" you have to pay for the "5 year dacia warranty"

Just to explain:

Car A, Dacia, 5 year warranty 14 000 Euro (13 000 for the car and 1000 for the extra warranty), is driven 40 000 k's a year, so this is after 5 years 200 000 k's
Within this time you have to be 10 times at the Dacia dealer for the check ups to keep your warranty(every 20 000).
So let's say you pay in Austria an average price for 750 Euro every check up (sometimes more, sometimes less, depends on what the dealer ist changing) So that's every year 1500 Euro you pay the Renault guys. In five years this is 7500 Euro

Ma plan is to go back home for services, each check <200E

Car B, brand not important (Focus, Astra whatever), 2 years old, Diesel, 30 000 k's, 12 000 Euro. So you save 2000 bucks from the start, and than you are free to repair just the things that are broken. (brakes, toothbelt, oil, filters and these normal stuff).

So just from the "expandable parts" you maybe pay to your indepenent dealer about the half from that what you would to pay to Renault, so maybe just 3500 Euro instead of 7500 Euro. Maybe even less. Give your car some oil and it will run!

So in the "normal way" Car B is 6000 Euro "cheaper" than A over 5 years.
And 6000 Euro is a big amount, you can even buy a second used car for this money if car B is breaking up completely within the 2 years!
So think about that!

Ok, that kind of unofficial -independent service-check is (again in Serbia) <150E.

But what if I have problems on autobahn, car stops because of some failure, I call OAMTC for help, they come pick up the car, bring it to service center which is not probably specialized for brand of my car... I wait for repair, and need to go to some motel with my wife and little kid.
How much would all that costs at the end (time, nerves, OAMTC, repair)?

The "Renault warranty" ist just one side of the truth, the other part is that you have to pay a lot for this!

But:
Is this 6 year warranty really with no milage -limit at Dacia? Or does it end when you have reached 150 000 k's? (that's what I remenber)

I think that additional warranty period of 2 more years (so 3+2, with 100kkm in total) costas about 500E. Limit is 100.000 km in total.

But if the car stops at the autobahn... I call Renault call-service center... and put and dot bother about anything

The MCV is a good decision, but I have for you a better proposition: buy a MCV with LPG, that will save you really money and, if you are interested, I can offer you this car, it has 52.000 km on the clock and it is in a new car condition, of course it will cost you much less than a new one.

In my opinion is it better to buy a new car with manufacturer guarantee. Everyone is annoying by troubleshooting after buy, but in garantee-time its cost-free . Older used-car WILL bring more costs . And a new Dacia is fullsize car to low price. It have wheels, radio und all other things you need to drive . A good friend owned a new mercedes and swagger about our cars, but my wife and I bought 2 Dacia for the price of 1 mercedes Who is smiling longer?
